Hotel Continental

Great location and service! Hotel is within walking distance to dining, shops and Sorrento port. The rooms were small but clean. Housekeeping people were nice and greeted us every day. Only complain is that one older receptionist was not helpful and seemed annoyed by a request we had. Every other receptionist were really nice and helpful! There is a nice bar/restaurant at the terrace level with a live DJ. Overall it was a great stay and will definitely consider them on a future stay in Sorrento!

This is an outrageously overpriced hotel that is in disrepair. If you like hotels that MIGHT have been 4 stars 40 years ago, based on 1970's amenities and decor, then maybe you'd like it here. Within 5 minutes of arriving, 4 different employees swarmed us to "help" in different ways that would, in their mind, warrant tips. This was a constant throughout the trip. The walls are PAPER THIN, and ALL NIGHT AND MORNING you hear everything from other travelers coughing and screaming to hotel staff and their insanely loud walkie talkies in the hotel. The power went out three different times during our 4 night stay. The paint was peeling in multiple spots in our room. Our curtains appeared to have blood on them (check pictures). The toilet only flushed if you were able to practice and perfect a "triple push" technique. The shower, by virtue of having very little protection around it, flooded the bathroom every time it was used. AND, don't forget the tips, like when for example two employees showed up at our door while one of us was showering to offer us towels, chocolates, and the next day's forecast. Great opportunity for more tips! On the upside, the location is good.

Service was absolutely amazing here, I think they offer all you can get as a hotel including a spa and pool. But since we came in November it seemed like the balcony was closed, staff are very friendly and even booked us a tour to Amalfi on a bus. Saved us the hassle. I believe generally this hotel would be amazing, except our room was right next to some construction and kind of took away our view of the sea and our walls seemed a bit thin, we heard talking on the other side, but we didn't ask for a better room. Maybe they would have upgraded? Super close to all the small shops and restaurants. And there is a really good view right outside the hotel of the sea. Would definitely recommend this cute hotel!
